So, recently I watched this movie 'Sir' which was released in 2020. It was definitely a good movie with great characters. It has a simple plot where a female named Ratna, a widow whose husband died when she was 19, belonging from a small village her life was kinda over. She moved to Mumbai, working as a servant, a house help at a writer's apartment. The writer named Ashwin, who worked overseas had called off his wedding after his engagement because he caught his fiancee cheating. Devastated, he returns to Mumbai again and this kinda romantic bond starts to form between Ashwin and Ratna. He is ready to accept however Ratna is, and whatever she does, but the main problem starts when Ratna is worried about class they are divided into and fearing judgements from his circle and her family who might force her to return to the village.
This movie also shows her passion and love for being a fashion designer, where she attends classes nearby at local sewing shops. Small gestures like Ashwin gifting her a sewing machine, she sewing him a shirt, him wearing the shirt to his office regardless what people say makes their bond even deep.
The end was left at a cliffhanger where the audience had to decide whether they come together or not. As a pessimist I would always lean to the negative side, but even with this side, at the end Ashwin fulfilled Ratna's wish of being a designer.
You can watch this movie on Netflix, and if you watch it don't forget to leave a comment telling how was your experience!
